The Day Before
Friday, May 11, 2012
Well, it's the day before my 1/2 marathon and the nerves have finally struck. I've been doing pretty well with my training, only really taking a week off for injury, in mid April. My foot felt fantastic during my taper run on Wednesday when I got a fast 3 miles in, well fast at least for me. As soon as I stopped running though and took my shoe off, the pain in my left foot slowly crept back in. I think it really peaks after 5 miles, so I'm a little cautious how 13.1 will treat it.
I'm running the New Prague Half Marathon, so there's a little bit of travel involved. We've been undecided what to do with the boys the last few days, but Tony's now considering registering the day of, so they'll probably go to my inlaws. I told him I'm not going to take care of him on Mother's Day if he's a mess of sore muscles due to zero training. Someday my dream of having my kids there to support me will be realized, someday.
My goals are:
1) To finish.
a) Under 10:00 min/miles.
b) Feel strong while running.
c) Maintain bladder control. [all you mamas know ;)]
The weather looks fantastic, I know I've put the miles in, and I'm excited to prove I can do it again! Any spare prayers are appreciated!
