Thursday Thoughts

Isaac's birthday is in a week. Just typing that started a mini panic attack. Don't worry, I'm sure I'll post a lot more about his 3rd birthday and how I can't believe he's already/only three. Just you way. You're excited, I can tell. Isaac finally decided on a Cars theme. Let me just tell you, mamas, get the cutesie, adorable, detailed parties in before they latch onto Disney themes. There isn't much on pinterest to doll up Cars, except for fondant Lightning McQueen cakes, and that is not happening!

Last year we did a family only party, but decided that since he recognizes little people as his friends that maybe this year we should invite a few. So with that said, it'll be a little bit bigger, but still not on par with the shenanigans that we had for his first birthday/dedication party.

I have severe house envy right now. Even if I weren't allowed to update or renovate, at all, I would pretty much adore a home with more space or light, or light and space. Seriously, I could live with shag carpeting and wood paneling if it meant being able to stretch out a little bit.

We're gearing up for our weekend away and the 50% chance of rain can not get me down! I don't have any anxiety leaving the boys, at all, but already feel the ache of missing them. I just really, really, really hope that Isaac listens well and that Ezra sleeps well for my Mom! Again, asking for prayers for this.

I absolutely adore this outfit and so wish that I could pull it off, but it combines two huge no-no's for me: slouchy and shorts.

Fittingly #5, the streak was broken yesterday! I didn't find a single tick . . . although that makes me cringe to think that I just didn't find it, but that it still may be somewhere.

I haven't run since Monday. It hurts me to type that. I finally reclaimed my identity as a runner and I already feel like I'm casting it off. The 1/2 marathon is in less than 4 weeks now and I've had my worst mileage week. Gina, Matt, Tony and I will probably try for a longer run this weekend, if the rainy weather cooperates, and I'm going to try to get a couple miles in tonight to see how my body feels. There's a lump on the top of my foot that seems to be filled with fluid. I've had a history of ganglion cysts, so I hope that's all that it is and it will mysteriously disappear just as quickly as it showed up.

Does anyone else accidentally hit the forward camera on their iphone and are scared to see what you actually look like?
Do you ever accidentally switch on your forward camera and be scared to see what you look like? #happensallthetime #needtogotobed

Tony's burning every angle of the candle that he can between softball, work, and home, but he's making great progress on the swingset! All fingers crossed Isaac will have it to play on by his birthday!

I think there's only supposed to be six of these, but I do what I want! Like stare at this child's face, a lot, and imagine what crazy conversations he'll come up with, if he's anything like his brother.

I'm all caught up on the sessions that should be out by this weekend, and did I mention, I'm super pumped to get away with the father of my children! Instagram fun of a "before babies tag":

I hope you have a great time this weekend! What a nice treat!

Sorry about your running, too! What a mess. Hopefully you'll be able to get back in that saddle soon!

Oh and I really do hate when that camera flip button is hit and it catches me in the frame... ugh. I'm not happy with it 97% of the time...

I meant to comment on your knee issue. I'm so sorry to hear that. I know you have been working so hard to increase your milage. I think you need to take the break your body needs. Try to put in a couple miles each day to equal the distance that you were going to try this weekend. You definitely don't want to push yourself too hard and end up not being able to run. Keep with it, mama! Also...can you tell me how you get your instagram pictures so big on your blog? Do you just download them from your phone that way? Or do you have to import them a certain way? Do you use Flickr or something? Thanks :) more thing. I started a Google calendar for me and Mike and it's wonderful! Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm always surprised what I look like when my camera is turned around. Sometimes it's scary what I walk around looking like all day! ;) Have a great time this weekend.

Totally understand about the house envy. Also, shorts can no longer be a part of my life if they are three inches above the knee. I take that back, two inches. Sad!

I hate shorts, but I feel like there's just no getting around them in the summer! But MAN, is it ever difficult to find a pair that are a cute but appropriate length!
