- Tony and I have cable again. Okay, Tony corrected me, we have a dish, but regardless, for the first time in almost two years, we have more than network channels.
To be honest, I don't think either one of us are as pumped about it as we thought we'd be. See our provider changed, which meant we lost our $28.00/month internet. Our options were to either pay $60/month or bundle with another service. Adding cable brought us to $70/month, so here we are.
Last night I excitedly viewed the guide, wanting to get "caught up" on all of the shows we haven't had in our lives, but ended up on ABC, just watching the shows that have become standard.
- After long last, we seem to be qualified for a refinance program! We're hoping that there will be enough home value to secure a 15 year mortgage, but are pretty certain we're going to have to settle for a 30 year. It'd be nice to drop off such a huge chunk of time and interest payments with the 15, but the immediate gain of the refinanced 30 year could save us as much as $350/month.
Due to this and the need for an appraisal, Tony has had a fire lit under his butt to get some work done around the house. Like, completing the interior trim work to the updated exterior doors that we put in . . . 4 1/2 years ago. I am not complaining! The house is looking a lot better than it has!
Last night, I cleared out the toy chest, as there are just too many toys! Ezra had an absolute ball, as I don't think he's played with more than 5% of toys available.
- Isaac. Oh my dear Isaac. This 3 year old stage is going to be tough, isn't it? After a pretty rough two days at my Mom's, he wasn't able to play with his John Deere tractor, which he knew was going to be his consequence if he didn't listen. To top it off, he threw a temper tantrum when the timer went off signaling bed time. He narrowed his eyes as he went to the bathroom, scrunched up his face to his mean face and chose his words carefully to say "I hope the monsters are going to kill you."
This parenting thing sure is fun, eh?
With his bare bottom right there, I don't even know if my brain processed the impulse before it was happening, but boy did he get a smack on the rear!
I didn't even say a word as I stared him down and within 30 seconds he was telling me "I don't. I don't mama. I don't want the monsters to kill you."
I told him it was the meanest thing he had "ever, ever" said to me.
- Tonight, after 4 months, I'm finally getting my hair touched up! I've realized that while I obsess over the growth, it's not the roots that drive me crazy. It's the brassy, warm color that just does not suit my skin! Yay for blonde hair and healthy ends!
