Que February and there still hadn't been much of anything. It's almost eery! Finally, Tuesday, we were given a winter storm. And it ended up being perfectsnowman snow.
It's suddenly hit me that while snowman seem to be a quintessential component of a northern climate childhood, that the opportunity is actually somewhat rare. I only remember making maybethree snowmen in my childhood, and have a picture of only one:

There has to be just the right combination of snow, temperature and time. Thankfully, Tony and I prioritized it Wednesday night right after we got done with work and right before Isaac's swim class.
Admittedly, Isaac was a bit more into "shoveling" aka taking his shovel anywhere throughout the yard and throwing snow.

And the snowman building responsibilities were solely Tony's.

Isaac threw himself on the ground quite often to make "snow angels."

And was being a bit of a stinker, but what a cute stinker!

But once we started making the snowman face, he was a little bit more willing to participate.

And started to enjoy the process.

Meanwhile, we'd built a snow bumbo for Ezra and he was having a ball watching us . . . until his butt started to get cold. Who can blame the guy? It was his first time in accumulated snow.

And the final result:

I hope this is only the first of many snowmen that grace our front yard.

Leah so cute!
I wanted to ask your blog readers for a favor. Last night i got the phone call that no parent ever wants to get....my amazing son Jonathan's apartment caught fire, and tragically he did not survive. I am in disbelief and totally numb. He was only 24 with a bright future ahead of him. We could use any prayers from your readers. I ache inside but my faith is holding me up, even though my legs can,t seem to do that right now. I will be out of the blogging loop for awhile, you know how much i love reading yours, Krystals, and many other blogs. I will not be at work, but my personal email is dmpfromri@yahoo.com
Thanks so much Leah.
Leah, I love this!! Great pics.
Diane - I am so so sorry. Sending you an email...
WOW… what a great snowman and photo! Glad you had such a great time. My very first memory of my whole life is of building a snowman in my yard when I was three. Maybe Isaac will remember this?!
