Not Pretty

Sunday, March 18, 2012

I have an appointment tomorrow morning and I'm quite anxious for it.

It's at the dermatologist

I have a history of precancerous and a-typical moles freckles.

And now, I've developed a mark that is unlike any other.

I first noticed it last Sunday. Tony'd noticed it earlier, if only a day or two. (I recommend your husband view you naked on the regular . . . and report when something looks off.)

I'm worried, because I feel with 98% certainty I know what it is, but have successfully prayed it off for the good portion of a week.

Please, if you're tanning, stop.

Please, if you're not wearing sunscreen, do.

More to come.

I'm sorry. I have been in those shoes.. Skin cancer by age 24. What do you say to a fair skinned girl who wanted to be cool growing up at the beaches of sunny So. Cal? I tanned, burned intentionally, and literally baked myself to oblivion. Wishing for good news. And yes... I second your last remarks. I've paid my dues as well.

Praying for you Leah....I hear you in the tanning and sunscreen.

I am going back to work today and i am anxious about it. I am praying for strength and to not break down too many times.

I'll say some prayers for you Leah. I am in the same boat right now. I had two moles removed from my face over the past couple years. One was a-typical, the other was just a mole. The one between my eyebrows (just a mole) has been bothering me lately. It is tender and almost feels like the scar tissue is growing or maybe they didn't get the entire mole and it's growing? My paranoid mind has been all over the place. I have an appointment with the plastic surgeon on Wednesday. He's also going to look at 2 more that I need to have removed (on the side and back of my head).
As long as you never ignore them, you should be okay.
Best wishes!

Lots of prayers your way. My husband actually was diagnosed with melanoma in October. Actually, the same day I found out I was pregnant, we found out he had skin cancer. Crazy, huh? He had it in two spots and luckily, it was caught early and he just had to have it removed. I know how scary it can be and I'll pray you have good results!

Prayers. Please keep us updated!

My Mom works in a dermatology office and makes it her mission to make sure everyone she knows is aware of the risks of tanning and not wearing sun screen.

Prayers! Going to the dermatologist was nerve-wrecking for me last month...and waiting was even worse. Hoping for good news for you, too!

I'll be praying for you. I have the same history as you and always find the dermatologist so stressing.

Praying it's not "it." I have a ton of freckles too, and I have never gotten them checked because I'm to scared to. You are smarter than I.

Praying for you friend. I SO know how you feel. Are you worried it is melanoma, or something else?
