Pony Ride!

Friday, October 14, 2011

Once upon a time, I thought that if saved all of my change that I could buy a horse, who would live in our backyard. I blame it on all of the $.05 novels from the 1940's that my Grandma gave me, which she purchased from garage sales.

Unfortunately, I never did own a horse, but I spent plenty of time going to Bunker Hills Stables . . .

Wishing for my cousin Kristi's horse . . .

and eventually riding yearly at Roselawn Stables.

We wanted so badly for Isaac to get to enjoy a pony ride when we went to the Anoka County Fair, but sadly they were too spooked by the tractor pull. Without even realizing it, it was all for the best though, because Isaac was able to go to Bunker Hills for his first pony ride, just like me.

I may have teared up, several times. It was a gorgeous afternoon and I was so happy that he enjoyed the ride so much!

Because really, that smile just can't be beat and I hope he continues to enjoy riding!

We've definitely made plans to return next year.

As we were leaving we shared that it was where I had my first ride and that it was also where Isaac just enjoyed his first and one of the managers told us that it was the first 2nd generation first ride that he'd heard of, which made it even more special.

We're expecting our little boy any day now, and the last few posts of Isaac have just been killing me - I can't wait till our little dude is his age! I love that last picture. :-)

So cute! I also thought I could save enough to but my own horse...and kept newspaper clippings of horses for sale in an old pencil box with all my savings. Needless to say, it didnt work for me either!

I can't believe how much Isaac looks like you as a child!! Lately I've really thought he favors Tony, but now I'm not so sure.
