Without Further Ado | Vlog

So, this is kind of odd. In over 900 posts, I've never done a vlog, but much like the 7 links meme, I just thought this one "sounded" fun. Oh my gosh, my Mom would give me a double five for that pun, I just might have to tell her about it. On second thought, it might be painful to explain a vlog, but I digress.

For your listening ears, my incredible dorky self, speaking Minnesotan in completing Jenna's accent vlog link up after being inspired by my friend Becky.

ps:: I didn't realize there was a list of words we were supposed to read, so I cut right to the chase in answering the questions.

pps:: Take a shot every time I say definite or definitely.

I only listened to a snippet since Im at my desk at work. But, I love your accent. Ah, it reminds me of Jason's family back in Minn. Whenever we go back to visit if Im there for more than 7 days I start drawing my o's, it's awesome! You have the sweetest accent.

Hahaha, oh my gosh, this is adorable and seriously hilarious. I smiled and laughed through the entire thing.

You have the most gentle, sweet, voice! Being the power woman I know you to be, I guess I just imagined your voice sounding different. :)

Yes, you definitely have the Minnesota accent, but I'm used to it after being born/raised there, and still having so much of my family there as well.

So cute!

Loved the Vlog! You really have a nice voice. And being a mere 20 miles from the MN southern border, we call everything the same too! I love your accent..I noticed it a lot when you said "doubt."

Awesome! Go Minnesotans! I don't hear even the slightest accent, but that's probably because I have one, too (although I don't hear mine, either)!

Go POP!!!

And I'm still trying to figure out a different way of saying "bag" because people seem to think we say it funny, but I can't pronounce it any other way.

You're so adorable that it brought me out of hiding to comment :) You're even cuter than I expected! Too bad I don't keep up with my blog or you could see how this Okie sounds! I definitely (ha) do NOT have an accent.

Oh my gosh, your accent!!!! Leah, I'm dying. Seriously, I think I was grinning like a fool through this whole thing. You are so cute and your voice is so sweet!

Um - awesome! Thanks for sharing! By the way, a lot of the things you said are the same in Canada :)

That made me smile, Leah. You are, in fact, adorable.

I didn't pick up much of an accent, either - probably because I'm from your neighboring state! But it's definitely soda, not pop, and a remote!!

;) I liked your first vlog!!

aaahhhhaaahhaa!! I LOVE YOUR VLOG! You are practically the ONLY one I've read that doesn't sound southern. You sound so cute and no like I expected, but it a way like I expected? That makes no sense, but I enjoyed hearing it! You're such a good mom and wife and I LOVE YOUR BLOG! xoxo Becky

Ha! Your 'without a doubt' phrase totally solidified the northern accent for me! I'm one of those weird ones who sort of has a northern but still hangs onto a southern accent so I can totally hear your northern flare. And I was grinning the whole time I listened:)

YAY! Someone who has an accent like me! :) Although, I think we're the normal sounding ones. ha

You inspired me to do my first vlog, too.

It is just like when you read a book and then go to a movie based on that book. The characters are not the ones you imagined when you read it and that VLOG is not what Leah sounds like! At least not to me! Lol!
Hilarious. I read your blog from Florida and I didn't not account for the accent. This was funny!

You are toooo cute! And you sound just like I imagined, with a little more accent. ;)

Your real voice is actually totally like the voice I had for you in my head!! :) And you have a beautiful smile, girl!!

I love this--and yes, I totally think you have a midwest accent.

PS- When I started watching this, Justin said from just hearing your voice, "Oh, is that Leah Maria?" I think he will always associate you as being Leah Maria, and not just Leah. And he also said he'd like to see Tony's video ;)

Yay, love it! You're so right about making voices for bloggers in my head. I like your accent. Maybe, as a Brit, I should do one of these because you Americans might like that...!

Hey Leah - this was sooo cute, you have a great accent, I happen to love different accents. I grew up in the north east (RI specifically) but somewhere along the line I lost my "baston" accernt when I moved to Maryland. And I didn't count how many times you said definitely, lol. You are such a natural beauty - it really shine from within you - motherhood definitely agrees with you!

Sky said...

So glad you call it pop! Also, this is the first accent vlog I've seen where someone had a word for "when it rains and the sun in shining." Never heard of a sunshower before... cool!

You are so cute! I've loved watching these accent vlogs. I was born in Minnesota but grew up in the D.C. area, so I've retained some of the MN accent, but also say "soda." :-P

Also, pretty cat!

I love this and I love how the blog world has just exploded with vlog! You're accent is great! I love how you say Minnesotian...

Anyway, glad to have a voice with your face!

Carrie said...

I think you have inspired me to do one.

SarahKL said...

Loved your vlog! I remember you commenting on my "Gender Reveal" party post and saying that we had "sweet accents"! I'm not QUITE as southern as they come, but my mom and MIL sound REALLY southern in the post. :) More videos please! I'd love to hear and see your little ones too!

Mrs. Case said...

um, yeah, totally NOT how the voice i assigned you in my head sounded like! not one bit! lol!!

also, you look so different on video than you do in still pictures. i mean, obviously photos only pick up so much intonation but you looked like a completely different, yet familiar person on the vlog. go figure. :)
