I had an amazing client meeting with my Friday wedding couple, met Gina at Target for some face to face gab time as she grabbed water and I picked up body wash, and then I flew home to my boys for some snuggling.
I found my mojo again.
And just in time, because I was able to take one of my most favorite images of the summer last night.
See Tony has been dying to get Isaac out camping our backyard, ever since we went over Memorial Day Weekend. Problem is, our tent that we received as a wedding present bit the dust a couple years back. Enter Uncle Levi to save the day. And let me tell you, based on how excited Isaac was, it's a good thing he knows it's Levi's tent, otherwise I'm afraid he'd be asking to sleep outside every night!
Even though they didn't head out until 10:30pm or so, Tony packed them some snacks.

Isaac had been asking to go out for the previous 2 1/2 hours. He was just a little excited! And yes, the John Deere's went out too!

All set for the trip out to the tent!

A head lamp for Tony and a flashlight for Isaac.

Getting situated.

And as a I left them. Sigh. What a beautiful moment and night.

Welcome Fall.
Thank you Lord for simple moments.

So beautiful! I can't wait for days like this with a little clan of our own. The photo is perfect! What amazing memories of a simple, but full of love, life!
Leah this is a wonderful idea! I have a 2 year old and I've never thought to do this b/c I always assumed he was too young. Did he actually fall asleep in a reasonable amount of time? Did they stay out there all night?
And that picture, oh that picture, it is wonderful!
Hi carO_!
Unfortunately Isaac didn't fall asleep until around 12:00pm or so because he was too excited and the moon was so bright, but Tony said it was totally worth it! They did stay out the whole night though. :)
I hope your little guy loves it if you do try it!
Those pics of them in the tent are AMAZING, National Geographic worthy!!!!
This is another reason why I admire your family, you have the gift of making the best of lil simple things,
and making great memories.
Thank you so much for sharing these pics, they are just perfect.
Leah, that last shot is incredible! I totally see Jarrod and Ethan doing this once he's older. :) How sweet.
Love this! I can't wait until we can do this with our son. It's great to see the amount of joy the small things bring to life.
Oh, Leah. As much as I love the cheese shot with the John Deere, that last shot is just precious. Definitely one to frame and pass down. What a beautiful family you have!
O.M.Gosh how I love that last picture. So cool. I'm glad it was so fun for them. Now to convince my husband to do the same... ;)
This is just so cute! I love this idea and how much fun would that be for the both of them. Oh and that last picture! So cool with the sky and all... So awesome.
Thanks for your help on the bf-ing. Makes me sad, but it will work itself out.
That picture needs to be in a photo contest...or on the cover of a magazine. Just adorable!
This is perfection, Leah :) I love it. I can't wait for the day Jim and Eli get to do stuff like this. Even now we talk about those backyard "camping" trips they will make while baby girl and I chill here in the house.
What an awesome idea! Love seeing such simple ideas for forever memories!
Such a great idea! I can't wait until we can do stuff like this with Olivia.
