Aldi Harvest

This is what a week's worth of groceries looks like for us on our budget of $70/week. There's no way I could come close to purchasing this at SuperTarget, Rainbow or Cub without the serious aid of coupons, which we don't usually use due to our low inclusion of processed foods [which is funny to say, because the above is the most processed food we've bought in a long time!]. On the rare occasion the aforementioned have a great coupon or deal on fruit, meat or cheese, you better believe though that I work it in!

From the above we were slated to make:
Crockpot Bratwurst
Taco Cornbread Bake
Summer Taco Salad
Bacon Alfredo Tortelloni
Easy Jambalaya

ps:: I think I'm going to regularly post this.

Darn it! I always forget about Aldi. Some of the most delicious things come from there too! I need to make going to Aldi and habbit...

Next month, for sure.

Love this picture and your meal options too! Sounds yummy!

I need to check out Aldi. Everyone raves about it but I never go. I went all the time in Germany (it's a German company) but I forget about it here. I think I need to nix walmart and use Aldi instead.

Great pic. I'd love for this to be a regular post!

If you don't mind sharing, how much did all of that cost? San and I love cooking so much (and eating) but groceries are so expensive, we usually don't get to make that nice of food, or that healthy. Maybe we should try Aldi!

P.S. I'm not sure if I shared this with you, but we are reading Financial Peace and are so scared but ready to take a big leap of faith and stop taking on debt!

I too would love this to become a regular post! Good shopping! And what a great pic!

You could include links to the recipes too if they're available online - they all sound deliciously simple / simply delicious :)

We don't have Aldi here, and it always makes me sad judging by the amazing deals I see bloggers post about!

We do have a local grocery store with great prices though, and it sounds like our grocery shopping strategies are really similar--I'd love this to become a regular post too :)

This would make a great regular post! Food is the one area in our budget that we're finally starting to really work on. $70 a week is inspiring!

I love buying my ground beef, frozen fruit, spices and olive oil at aldi- HUGE savings! But I rarely buy fresh produce there any more...I've had a few bad experiences with stuff spoiling really fast so I still like to pick that stuff up at Sam's Club or Cub.

WOOT! That's awesome. Can I just say that my grocery bill has NEVER been $70. It's easily more than $100 a week and we don't even meal plan so we're always coming up short with dinners to make.

I really just can't wait to get this meal plan/food budget together.

Going to go take a look around Aldi to see what I think!

I, too, would love if you posted this weekly! :)

We used to shop at Aldi frequently but we only go there rarely now. I think I need to change that!

I love Aldi! Would also like to see this post become regular!

Thanks!

So if that's dinner, what's for lunch (sometimes leftovers, I assume), breakfast, and snacks? I mean, I see the cereal and the bread. Our $100 budget is just enough to provide food for all 3 meals plus a few snacks. Actually, sometimes it's cheaper. But never $70! Maybe Aldi would be worth the extra drive.

P.S. Taco cornbread bake is e-mealz, isn't it? That's on our list this week too :)
