Two Truths:
1). I suck at thank you's.
2). I bought the Canon Mark II.
The Lie:
3). I must do my devotions daily.

1). I.am.terrrible.at.thank.you.cards. Terrible. Like my Mom is embarrassed for me, because she raised her daughter better than how I express gratitude via thank you cards.

Case in point: Sky sent me this beautiful necklace and I never acknowledged that I received it. I mean honestly, who does that?

Sky. I love it. Thank you for sharing your talent with me in celebration of my boys!

2). I did. I bought the Canon Mark II. It was kind of a spur of the moment decision that's been building for the past year. The final tipping point was having both my husband and son shouting excitedly "Do it!" and from Isaac "Do it, mama! Do it!"

I'm in love.

3). Is the lie. In truth, I don't know that I've ever completed a single devotion book. Ever. I've never been able to dedicate a set quiet time. As an adult and now mother, it is something I really want to overcome.  I want to be able to give God that time, daily to speak to me.

I have camera envy. :)

And I am awful with keeping up with devotions as well...as admits my most recent post. :\ Not proud of that.

I used to be the same way in regards to devotions. Now, I can't make it through my day without them. I notice a HUGE difference in myself by mid-morning (without that dedicated time in the word) and it's just not worth it to me, or fair to the boys.

Not saying that at all to "guilt" you or make you feel bad... just to encourage you! I know once you carve out some time each day that you'd never look back. :)

I am also horrible at writing thank you cards...and I too have never finished a devotional. Which is actually why I joined Bible Study Fellowship- a nation wide bible study organization that isn't based out of one specific church. I love it because not only do they give you a short reading to complete every day but you get a set of questions to answer that will be discussed at your next meeting. I feel like being a part of a group will make me more accountable for doing my devotions every day.

OMG that is wonderful news about the camera, Leah - congrats on your purchase! I sense even more amazing photos coming from your blog in the immediate future. I am so scared to buy a DSLR camera, I am CLUELESS on using a camera, other than the automatic kind.

Hoep you are doing ok with being back to work, I have been praying for you.

Honestly, I hated thank yous, but I've been really good about it since Coen has arrived. Some day it might click and you'll do them. If you don't... don't worry about it.

Love that necklace and love this post.

You crack me up. Congratulations on the Mark II, it will come in handy as your wedding season gets into full swing.

You are welcome, I'm glad you like the necklace.

Also, I want to point out that I suck at following through on time. Didn't I tell you I would send something before Ezra was born?

I have such a hard time with devotions too--if I miss a day, I might as well miss a whole month, because they're so hard for me to get back into if I stop!

Literally, the only thing that keeps me on track is the accountability of being in a Bible Study...and sometimes even THEN it's a struggle!

Also, love that necklace! I am horrible about thank yous as well.
