While we enjoyed our time with the bride and groom, I was less than thrilled with most others throughout the day. With 7 weeks to go, I officially am devoid of any grace when it comes to handling rude pregnancy comments! I'm certain that there are worse things said to some people even when not pregnant, but I'm just not going to stand for it. While I'm generally an open person who loves to have a conversation, I am deliberately avoiding people at this point. A few of the gems from this weekend:
"Please don't go into labor today."
After explaining that I still have a month and a half to go, she continued "Oh! Well you really look like you could have the baby today! Please don't go into labor today."
"Woah, check out her beer gut!" said at least 5 times by the same person.
"How are you? You must feel terrible. I'm praying for you."
"This has to be really hard for you, because it's difficult for you to hold your urine."
I just may go into hiding for the remainder of this pregnancy, if only it were possible!
Then on Sunday, because I'm a glutton for punishment, I inadvertently scheduled a mini-mini session day filled with 3 family sessions with a total of 8 boys! The oldest was 5 1/2. I can not explain to you how sore my legs are today from all of the squatting and chasing. That said, without a doubt I can also say that I enjoyed every minute of it while shooting! There wasn't a single meltdown and each boy was on their best behavior! I'm at the point where I wouldn't even mind a few days of rain due to amount of editing I have ahead of me and yet we finally have a string of beautifully forecasted days, go figure.
As if I hadn't filled enough cards with my double whammy of days, I took Isaac outside last night to just grab a quick set of him. I can't believe how few our days are as just a family of three. He really wanted to listen, but of course went straight to "SmileCheese!" while burying his face in his hands.

You should know that while all of these pictures being taken a 6" version of Sid from Ice Age was making his way through my hair, around my head and out my ears courtesy of Tony. It worked.

I mean, it really worked.

My favorites though are the black and whites. I just can't believe how grown up my baby looks. There are days when he seems to grow a foot over night. And these pictures just seem to justify how much older he seems!

Oh my gosh, how am I going to handle his birthdays when they are double digits! It feels just a few months away by how fast time has already passed!

My hair leaves a little to be desired, but I love this picture Tony snapped. Even if Isaac is cuddling me because he literally just bit the tip of my nose, thus the rather stern look on my face.

Thank you God for such an amazing little boy and the camera you provided in my hands to capture him as best I am capable!

I think it might be a good thing I cancelled on you then? You were probably hoping I'd cancel. ;)
People can be so rude to ladies growing humans.
Love the pictures, as always. Especially the bare feet.
Oh, goodness! The things people say!
I'm glade all the little boys you shot pictures of this weekend were on their best behavior!
Love the pictures of your little man!
Ack! You were so awesome yesterday, and you are an absolutely lovely pregnant woman. Seriously, you should have seen me lumbering around work pulling my step ladder behind me so I could sit if a contraction struck me. And seriously.. Beer gut? Not funny the first time :(
You are so fabulous, behind and in front of the camera!
I can't believe you've gotten so many rude comments! I think you look fantastic!
And the pics of Isaac are beautiful!
I don't think I've seen that many black and whites on your photo page, but you should do them more often because your conversion is STUNNING! Great shots of your little man Leah!
Oh Leah, the things people say! I am so sorry! For what it's worth, I think you are absolutely gorgeous!! And the picture of you and Isaac together is precious!
Oh, some people shouldn't speak.
Cute photos!
Great picture of you and Isaac! He looks like such a big BOY in those pictures!
you look Gorgeous! I think people can say the cruelest things without realizing it! Your boy is so handsome! Best wishes!
Ooooh... those comments. That you didn't actually punch someone means you're a better person than I. What is with people?
I'm 17 weeks along with my first at the moment. I keep looking at your bump pictures as "inspiration pics" - as in, "I hope I look this great at 33 weeks!"
What IS it about pregnancy that makes other people totally lose their filter with words? I am sorry those things were said to you. :(
Love the photos of Isaac. Love. What a cutie!
Leah, your pictures are beautiful! I can't wait for you to shoot our wedding in the fall!
