30w1d

I feel absolutely huge compared to last week, which may or may not have something to do with the fabulous food I ate, all day long, yesterday.

30w1d with Baby Love vs 30w with Isaac. Note the feeling huge part.

From my weekly email: Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and he weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision – which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

How far along?: 30w1d
How big is baby?: The size of a head of cabbage, 15.7 inches with legs extended, and almost 3lbs.
Weight gain/loss?: Last week I was looking at 18.6lbs, but after this weekend, I'd estimate 20lbs for sure.
Stretch marks?: None, thankfully.
Maternity clothes?: Bottoms, absolutely. So far I'm still leveraging a lot of my non-mat tops though.
Sleep?: Absolutely atrocious. I would love to crawl back into bed right now.
Food cravings?: Avocado. Turkey burgers. Thai. But nothing is overwhelming.
Gender?: We're having another son!
Movement?: I can't get enough of his movement, although it's already changed to a lot of stretching instead of kicking.
Belly button?: Virtually out. There's just a little bit hanging on.
What are you looking forward to this week?: Starting to work on my quilting projects with my Mom.

Notables: I am exhausted. Sleep has just been terrible for me all of the sudden and I'm reminded how much worse it is with a newborn. For the first time I'm starting to worry about how we'll cope with a 2 year old and newborn. I just take solace in that an uncounted number have managed to survive and I know that we will too, somehow. That's just how it goes.

I'm working on our outfit selections for our maternity/family session with Gina at a date to be determined and while I'm happy to have managed to secure outfits for both Tony and Isaac without spending a single dollar, choosing my shirt or dress has become such a pain! I'm just not particularly thrilled with how I'm carrying my pregnancy weight this go round and it's just wearing me down.
