Bad, bad 2 weeks.

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

Tony and I are just at our wits end right now. I'm literally to the point where I want to postpone our 20 week u/s on Tuesday, just because the onslaught of bad things has not stopped and I would feel like there was negative momentum going into an ultrasound that will tell us whether Baby Love is healthy or not.

Mind you, I said "want" to postpone, not that I'm actually superstitious enough to actually make the phone call. I'm just saying that the thought has rattled around in my head the past few days.

Isaac has been at my Mom's twice in the past 1 1/2 weeks. Last Monday and then Thursday. It has just been an deluge of sickness around us starting with Isaac, Tony, myself, my Stepdad, my Mom, Gina, Matt, my Mother-in-law, nephew and most recently my Aunt Kathy, who has been assisting my Mom with daycare due to my Mom's continued rehabilitation from her shoulder surgery. Kathy was on the way to my Mom's this morning when she had to pull over to be sick, without a helper my Mom isn't able to take care of the toddlers and under because she can't lift them.

Tony hasn't worked a day this week. He has no time off. If he doesn't work, he isn't paid.

On top of this, Isaac has taken up fits of crying. We aren't sure if it's related to teething or if it's his form of a temper tantrum. Last night when we were unsuccessful in putting him down until midnight and when he cried in his crib from 2:45 to 3:45am, we just didn't know what to do. He was absolutely inconsolable. Normally our chatty boy will respond when questioned, no matter what he's doing, but no last night. Nothing triggered a response, there was absolutely no delay in his crying. He then slept until 10:00am, much later than his usual 7:00-8:00am wake up with Tony.

My Mom arranged to have a friend to help tomorrow and now she's feeling achy. Due to my Mother-in-law and nephew being sick, my in-laws aren't an option to watch Isaac. I do have the option to work from home, but have had training meetings scheduled all week. Let me tell you, I was slightly annoyed to learn that because a co-worker worked from home our meetings today were rescheduled. The only reason I came in was because of our meetings! I absolutely could have worked from home and Tony could have finally gotten to his projects.

I.just.don't.know.what.to.do.

we've had a rough two days, but two weeks is even worse! Hang in there, lady. This time of year is so dreadful with illnesses. I just hate the winter, that is all.

Hey Leah!
Hang in there! I hope everyone feels better soon and that Isaac sleeps well soon! I've found tips in Happiest Toddler on the Block have helped us with our tantrums.

Oh my goodness. When it rains it pours. Isn't that so true? So sorry you are having to deal with all of us right before the big "reveal". I will pray He will show you the light at the end of the tunnel very very soon!

Oh my, so sorry you're having a rough couple weeks :( Wish I could help you out! The joyful ultrasound next week will be the turning point! But I hope you don't have to wait another week before things start getting better...

Ugh, I'm sorry you've had a rough couple of weeks. I totally understand, and have been going through the SAME THING with Lizzy in regards to the 3am inconsolable screaming. It's awful. Maybe since Isaac and Lizzy are both teething and both doing it, that's the culprit? Either way, SUCK.

Sending good thoughts and prayers your way! It is so frustrating to deal with work issues, sick kids, sick family/friends, and life in general, all at once. Seeing that sweet little baby next Tuesday will be wonderful! Blessings!

ps- we go next Thursday!!! :)

Yuck, I am so sorry. Do you have any friends that could help you or maybe if you contact your church they might know of someone?

I hope things get better for you guys soon! We're in the beginnings of the unknown tantrum phase too and even though we know it's just a phase, it's hard.

Hang in there!
