Swedish Meatballs.

I just need to take the opportunity to brag on Tony. Yesterday at work, we had a potluck. You know what that means, two plates of food and major overindulgence. I did not disappoint. It was hands down one of the best work potlucks I have ever attended.

We had crab dip to pizza dip, chicken curry with rice to vegetarian chili, homemade black bean hummus to deviled eggs with caviar. It. was. ridiculous.

To say the least I was not necessarily hungry when it came to dinner.

Tony and Isaac of course needed to eat, but I had a client coming to pick up a disc which meant I had pictures I needed to finish editing. Tony totally stepped up and made our e-mealz Swedish Meatballs. I must confess, as he was making it, it didn't smell the most appealing, but I figured eh, it'd be a fine enough meal for the two guys.

Normally while Tony is cooking there is a breaking point. The point at which too much smoke, pot slamming or general sense that Tony is overwhelmed at which time I have to take over. This usually consists of turning down at least one burner from high med to med or med low. Last night, it didn't happen.

For the first time in our marriage, Tony cooked a complete meal from start to finish by a recipe, without any of my meddling necessary.

And it was good.

haha way to go Tony! This is one thing I cant relate to you on, Matt is a great cook when he wants to be! Our first date, he made me chicken stir fry.

That is awesome! My Tony also has the "burner to high" syndrome. Since he's the first one home at night, he usually cooks unless it is something fancy (not frozen or in a box or can).

Wow, that's an impressive accomplishment! One that I don't think has yet occurred in our house, there's usually at least SOME meddling/rescuing required.

Your potluck sounds amazing! Caviar? I don't think I even like caviar, but I'm impressed :)

What is it with guys always wanting to cook everything on high? Chris does it all.the.time. Way to go Tony on cooking a good meal without a breakdown!

My husband is not a very good cook either and does the same thing with the burners. I am so glad Tony got it right :)
