That said, the meteorologists have grown more and more excited as the week has progressed. And finally, they've released this. A forecast of 15"-20".

For those of you not from Minnesota, the Halloween Blizzard of 1991 is one of our most revered natural calamities. For Paul Douglas to even hint that this weekend may come close is almost blasphemous.
I really wish I could say that Tony, Isaac and I will be comfy cozy by the fire this weekend, the only problem is we don't have a fireplace. That said, if you need our family we're going to be holed up with food and alcohol after stocking up tonight!
Stay safe my Minnesotans and Wisconsinites! Please be advised that travel simply isn't recommended Saturday and Saturday night.

After the year we had last year, I give you 15-20" a big ol' "PSH!" :) Over a 4 day +/- span we had 5' come down. I am envious of your snow though.. I loved it.
That's funny! Chris literally just left to stock up on milk...and wine. :)
We don't have a fireplace either...maybe we'll sit in front of our space heater and pretend.
I know it is old hat for you - but I really am SO jealous! My oldest two have NEVER played in the snow, went sledding, had a snowball fight, etc. Can you believe that?? They are praying it will snow soon so they can experience all that greatness :) Stay warm!!
Wow, man. That's a lot of snow. My husband and I no longer believe the meteorologists when they tell us something is going to happen.
My husband actually loathes them. He thinks it's a "made-up" science. More than half the time they are wrong though. At least here in our city ;)
For instance, we heard it is supposed to be a windchill of -16 tomorrow morning. I laughed. It's 55 degrees today for God's sake! I don't believe it.
Anyhoo, hope you stay warm girlie!
Wow... y'all will really get some quality time this weekend! Stay warm and safe :)
Whoa! Are we getting a lot of snow too? I've apparently been living under a rock ;) Stay warm, Leah and fam! Sometimes it's nice to hole up and relax!
I'm making a trip to Trader Joes and Blockbuster tonight to prepare for the weather ahead.
Too bad J is gone for the weekend. Hope you guys have some good quality family time!
We're not expecting quite as much snow here in WI, but we will certainly be holed up with food and alcohol ... well, alcohol for the Husband at least! :) Stay safe!
oh goodness lady! Stay safe and warm.
Oh Southeast Iowa how I love thee - we are supposed to get maybe an inch. Although combined with the crazy winds - we are under a blizzard watch.
How funny...I was just thinking about how your last set of snow pictures would have shut down the town for DAYS. I mean, we've got a ski resort nearby...we're used to snow...but in the MOUNTAINS.
Anyway, enjoy your holed up weekend. Don't go stir crazy!
That is a lot of snow! Definitely stock up and eat warm chili or something! I can't wait to see your beautiful photos!
Too bad, I can't stay at home.. Instead, I have to risk my life and drive to work just so that I can try and keep some innocent little babies alive.. I would much rather stay at home with food and alcohol;)
Ha! We are supposed to get snow TOO and where do you think Matt is? The Wine and Spirits down the road! Be careful up there!
Also, this is unrelated, but I couldnt find your email to send it to you there. I just wanted to let you know that you are still in my prayers friend.
that's a pretty colorful map!! I think we're only getting a few more inches, NBD down here. Hang in there!
Have fun holed up with the fam! We have nothing remotely close to that coming our way, but it'll be bitterly cold and windy. Bring on the hot chocolate!
Wow! Yikesola! That sounds scary but kinda fun! The last snow that we had in this area was the year I was born! I'd love to see something like that in my lifetime---as long as everyone was safe and warm. : )
All week we had planned to do ALL our Christmas shopping today. I think we are both secretly okay not begin able to leave the house :) I am glad I stopped at Target and of course the liquor store last night in anticipation.
Hope you guys had a warm and cozy {and safe!} weekend!
