National Pregnancy/Infant Loss Remembrance Day

Friday, October 15, 2010

Today is a day that has caused many women to pause for thought and men too for that matter. Just a pause to remember a little life and an exponentially larger loss. Today is the National Pregnancy/Infant Loss Remembrance Day and I'm proud to have broken my silence on facebook, this blog and in my personal life in regards to a subject so twisted in pain.

I will never understand God's ways, but only hope that I learn from the experience and bless other's in the way He hoped. Our experience in losing Josiah has softened my heart in so many unexpected ways.

I am 1 in 4. I am one in 2,000 miscarriages, stillbirths and infant losses every day. And as much comfort I take in recognizing and realizing that I am not alone in my misfortune via facebook, message boards and IRL, it saddens me as well.

Tonight, I will light a candle at 7:00pm to take part in the wave of light occurring [potentially] all around the world. I will take the time tonight to remember our Josiah [Josie] and what our life may have been like. I will also delight in the Lord's plan, pondering what He has in store for our family, the age difference He prefers and the direction He has ordained for our lives.

Tonight, I will also pray for my sisters: those who abhor pregnancy and plan to abort, those who are infertile, those in the painstaking adoption process, those who have recently suffered a loss and those who have found themselves blessed by a health pregnancy. I will be praying for you all.

I want to thank so many of you, my readers, friends and confidantes for the support you have provided me in these past few months. I know that I am blessed.

Lots of love Leah. I plan to light a candle tonight too, and Josiah will be one of the sweet babies that I take time to remember.

Im sorry I am late commenting on your post, I am sorry you ever had to join the ranks of women in that group. You have all been in my prayers.
