My Wedding

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Friday was my wedding. My wedding. Okay, fine, not my wedding, but "my" wedding! I was overcome by the same emotions that I experienced the day that I married my best friend, as I did preparing to photograph my first primary wedding. There was the same excitement and anxiety, okay maybe a little more anxiety. Let's be honest, I was pretty much terrified.

I battled through work, oh yes, I worked until 2:00pm as the ceremony was literally across the street from my work. Every day last week when I went to the lunch room I was reminded of my great opportunity and promptly lost my appetite. I joke, I joke! I picked up my friend Abbey, who was 2nd shooting for me at 3:00 and then we made our way to West Photo to grab a little fish eye, before turning back downtown.

And then, there was no turning back. I can't describe it, but I was the photographer and I showed up. I was living my dream. I couldn't have done it without the support of my Mom, Tony, my cousin Shannon [who forced me to cover my cousin's wedding reception :)], Gina, Abbey or YOU GUYS! I had a BLAST. As soon as we walked through the doors to J's dressing room the nervousness and fears evaporated.

J was the image of perfection and her relationship with her husband is so touching to watch. They love each other and get each other in a way I haven't witnessed often. Plus, they are a hoot to listen too as their sense of humor is integral to their relationship. I couldn't have started off my wedding career with a better couple! Their communication was solid, expectations were established and they were so helpful to me in order to maximize my output.

Here are the sneaks from their wedding day.

Awesome! I hear it's totally normal to be completely terrified before your first wedding [I know I was...even though it will be my ONLY wedding!] Great job on the photos. Can't wait to see more :)
