In addition to being a not so good friend, I'm a terrible recipe follower. However, when it comes to cooking, as opposed to baking, I really think my inability to follow a recipe could be a good thing! We all know how it goes when baking though . . . there's a reason for the proportions of baking soda versus baking powder!

The last four recipes to be violated all originated from this blog: Gina's Weight Watcher's Recipes.

[I started the above sentence with two, then three and finally realized the grand total is four within the last three weeks.]

The best part is that I do believe they would taste even better if I actually followed the recipes, but was quite pleased with how they turned out regardless of my substitutions!

We have tried:
White Bean Chicken Chili

Roasted Cauliflower

Garlic Shrimp

Habenero Scallion Cilantro Rice

Amazing you guys, amazing. Now I'm not dieting, but always prefer to eat healthier and these dishes are not lacking in flavor!

And you are totally not a "not so good friend." :) For all the reasons you listed in your post - those are all the reasons why we love you so much! We wouldn't have been friends for so long if that was not the case.

Yum, these look delish! I am borderline obsessed with finding new recipes, and then never making them... But these look quick and easy. Thanks for sharing :)

I'm going to have to check that blog out. Most of my cooking is loosely based on recipes too. Sometimes my success rate is higher than others. :)

I think I'm coming to terms with the fact that I'm a picky eater. Or allergic to so much that it MAKES me a picky eater. Either way, I could only eat one of the four recipes (the chili). I will definitely have to check that one out though!

I just found Gina's blog as well. There are some really yummy recipes on there and the best part is that I know that they are healthy!!

oh my, all this food is making me so hungry!!
dare i admit i just ate frozen pizza for dinner with my man...ha! okay i just did ;) it was um, good.
all this food looks delicious!! i love new recipes! when i'm not a slacker baking pizza. ha!
