Welcome to Minnesota

Where the women are not dainty eaters, the men are husky and the babies are hearty. :)

Okay, let's not over generalize the whole state as blubbers, as we are consistently ranked in the top 5 healthiest states in the US, but the point is this whole nationwide cold-snap we're experiencing? I don't want to hear about 20* freezing temps. Don't get me wrong, I understand the impact of these temperatures in the South! I just want to brag upon my fellow Minnesotans/Dakotans/Wisonsinites/and well even Iowans.

Without wind chill it was -18* Saturday morning. We've had a few high's of zero lately, but for the most part have remained below.

Oh and the heat hasn't been working in my car for about a month.

With this weather even Isaac had to bust out the Carhartt's.

I hope you're all staying warm, regardless of what your perception of cold may be!!!

I LOVE those baby Carharts!

See, we're having an unseasonably WARM winter here...it's the first year in as long as I can remember that we don't have snow. And it feels WEIRD.

(I should clarify that I was referring to Isaac in those baby Carharts as "adorable"...) :)

Well said! We did have about a 25 degree swing in temps today- even if it's only 7. that's something...right?

We're in the single digits - both negative and positive and I don't like it. And wind chill? We've never even needed a wind chill meter before, but this year it's been frigid. Colorado is not this cold in the winter and I'm not okay with it trying it out this year.

Was that me you were refrencing with our 20* cold chill? Me who was so cold in her 48* weather she had to curl up by the fire? ;) LOL. Did my time up north and I'm never going back! It is hilarious to hear them talk about our "freeze" on the news. Don't let your pipes freeze - leave a faucet dripping! Cover the plants! Don't let your kids be outside for too long waiting for the bus! It's all because people do not know how to properly layer around here, let alone own proper winter wear (says the girl who went ahead and wore her zebra print flats despite the wind chill)! Not kidding. This city SHUTS DOWN at the tiniest chance of a snow flurry. Ice? Forget it. I had to buy John "long johns" since he does have to work outside all day. I mentioned getting him something like Carhartts and he had no clue what I was talking about. He wouldn't look nearly as cute as Isaac in them though!

Love the picture... hate the weather! Its also been super cold here in Ontario, Canada... but we don't have a lot of snow so I suppose that's a little blessing :)

I actually thought of you today-
Here in Wichita we're at -8 with the windchill. I thought "I wonder what the weather is like for Leah in Minnesota!" Lol.

Those baby Carhartt's are adorable! I hear ya, we are just about as cold here in Iowa! I'm praying we have an early spring! :-)

Whoo hoo, for lumping in Wisconsinites into your 'hard core' group.

And yes, for those wondering, -18 feels a whole hell of a lot colder than just 18. BIG diff.

What cute boys you have, my dear!

And, we just got school cancelled here for 3 degree temps.

I love those carharts!! My uncle bought the boy some mini cowboy boots and some camo diaper covers. So cute.

Also, this might be weird, but your husband seriously looks like he could be related to Joaquin Phoenix!

Haha! Here I am complaining about our 20 temps and 8 degree wind chills. Granted, I do freaking live in Florida. Haha. We're so not used to this weather. I don't know how you do it and no heat?! Good lord, Lady! That is NOT GOOD! I wouldn't leave my house. STAY WARM!!!!!
