An Elephant?

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

I'm so behind right now, I can't even tell what I'm behind. But if I were to make it out, I believe my google reader would look like an elephant. It's sitting at 288 right now.

Work just won't slow down. We're looking at disenrollment in less than two weeks.

Isaac wouldn't sleep, which make me a very tired Momma.

His rosy cheeks and rash just won't clear up, we're thinking a tooth might pop in the near future.

Both my Mom and Tony are trying to bribe me into doing a Christmas card. My Mom is offering to pay and Tony is offering to address them!

My brain hurts and I feel like a hypochondriac assuming it's a tumor.

Tony and I are almost set for presents, $20 limit on each other and we've decided in concept that we're going to get Isaac a Bible, but we haven't decided which one yet . . .

Are you guys keeping your heads above water?

Ugh, I'm sorry life is so crazy right now Leah! To answer you, no, but I'm just kind of letting a lot of stuff slide right now. Like Christmas cards. I finally got the tree decorated yesterday... less than 2 weeks before Christmas! Kind of freaking out that my due date is in 50 days, but just hoping that January is a boring month with lots of time for relaxing/preparations :)

My advice would be to use vistaprint.com they seem to be the best priced for cards. You can pay less than $10 bucks for 25. I would also think about doing New Year Cards vs Christmas because then you will have more time to get them out. A quick tip is to go ahead and type out labels now while you are waiting for them to come in the mail. Then when they get here all you have to do is stick on the labels and stamps. I too vote for the cards, I think that you may wish you had years down the road.
Happy Holidays!

At least you are updating your blog, I cannot even keep up with that. Also I just ordered Christmas Cards, lets hope they arrive BEFORE Christmas.
I like the idea the PP has about New Year's cards, folks are just as excited about these as they are Christmas one's

Just got my Christmas cards in the mail a few days ago from vistaprint.com. They're still sitting in the box, untouched.

I'm sinking at work, and fast.

My head is spinning from my whirlwind trip to MN to visit the family.

And to make matters worse, my boss has just told us that we have to be completley moved out of our office space in 2 weeks from today--without the help of professional movers.

Can I scream yet? So my answer is NO...my head is not above water.

Hope you're able to hang in there, Leah!

I'm sorry that things are so hectic for you. Theres something about this time of year. As wonderful and lovely as it may be, it's always so busy and hectic! Add a non-sleeping child and things can seem worse!

I hope things get better for you soon! Let me know if theres anything I can help with!

Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate, mama. I hope you get a chance to slow down and take in the holiday!

Regarding the Bible, are you guys wanting to get him a real Bible or a children's Bible? I got The Beginner's Bible for Bug at one of my showers and I really like it.

LOVE the idea of you getting Isaac a bible for Christmas!

Hope you can find a time to rest and get your energy back. It's that time of year when things seem to pile up [my house is a mess and MY google reader is at 1000+!!!]

Barely keeping my head above water. Sometimes I hate the holidays - fights with my husband about where we're spending them and how much time we'll be there, it's expensive, it's insanely busy, it sometimes makes me wish I could move to Iceland during December just to be away from everyone. Ugh. Good luck! I agree with another commenter - do New Years cards.

I barely can keep afloat! Just breathe and prioritze. I know it sounds easier than it is! (This from the girl that had to deactivate her facebook account and stop blogging for MONTHS).
Good luck! And I love catching up on you and your beautiful family!

PS (No facy photo cards this year for us...just good old fashioned store bought with a little note inside)

Nope, not really keeping above water here either.

Do you get a few days off for the holidays?

Don't feel bad! I'm pretty much drowning in all I have to get done before Christmas. I like the New Years Card idea. There's no way I'm getting cards done before then.

I am also not keeping my head above water.

I just got the rest of the Christmas cards I needed in the mail today--I reallly thought 75 would be enough, but not so much.

My MIL changed the date of our Christmas with her because of my BIL's g/f of one month. I want to scream.

Today is our anniversary and I had a nice dinner planned, but even that might tank now.

Oh, and I don't have ANYTHING wrapped.

Hang in there!!

A couple of weeks ago was when I drowned. Seriously. It's when I quit my painting business. So I'm totally in the same boat!

Speaking of Christmas cards, I hope you got ours okay! :)

Yes, I feel overwhelmed too. It's part of that time of be year!

As one whose kids have every kid bible known to man (MIL has a thing with collecting kids bibles), The Big Picture Bible has been the best we've ever had. I think it's by David Helm... It is our kids ultimate favorite and I like it because it is essentially all about Jesus. It's the whole bible, but it really does a great job of showing how everything was a lead up to Jesus.

Hope all settles down soon and Issac's little cheekies get well soon! <3

You are busy!! A bible, what a great idea! I may steal it from you - the idea that is, not the bible.

God bless you, Leah...you're a real woman...I can so relate to everything you've shared. Though I really admire and appreciate beautiful homes and Christmas decorations all over the place looking gorgeous, I appreciate your honesty even more, and the fact that you're sharing your very real struggles. It gives people like me a lot of hope...because my house isn't all put together, and I haven't baked a thing, and if my daughter didn't push ahead on getting Christmas cards thought up, there wouldn't be any...Thank you for being real. I love you for it!

Hang in there, Leah! Sounds like life is crazy. I hope it slows down enough for you to have a chance to really enjoy the holidays. I admit to having times where my google reader has hit 1000+. At that point, I generally have to just start clicking categories of blogs and hit "mark all as read" and then start over with a clean slate. :)

Poor thing! You will make it; just keep pushing forward.I often get overwhelmed also.

Yeah, I'm not keeping my above water-hence the lack of commenting on my part! I was the genius who thought it was smart to get her wisdom teeth removed two weeks before Christmas, well it was smart in terms of money but in terms of the rest of our lives....ehhh not so much! For the first time ever, I'm not done Christmas shopping, I have 5 of my siblings and my parents done but still have 2 of my siblings left plus hubs siblings and his parents and aunt and a few more things for hubs himself......ack! There is no tree set-up as of yet, though the Christmas baking is done. No cards this year-I wimped out and let my mother include details of our lives in her family Christmas letter and photo-they're all going to the same people for the most part anyway! We are also in the midst of the year-end close at work PLUS auditors so work is NOT helping my poor brain! I keep telling myself that if I can just get caught up, just push a little harder, I'll make it and be able to tread water but reality is looming! 2010 can't be here soon enough!

Oh Leah, I'm behind on reading as well... SO no judgment here. As for keeping my head JUST BARELY! I am almost to the point where "I just want it over with!" Which is sad, because it is Christmas but... And when our babies have an ailment, oh dear we are in for some sleepless nights!
