Purple ink.

Yesterday was craziness. I decided to make meatloaf for my friend Abby. She's home with her precious little peanut Brynna, who's now a week old! Hopefully some of my babbling for the past 4 months finally makes sense to Abby now that she holds her little one. :)

Anywhoo, I've never made meatloaf before. I know. The horror. Married three years and never checked this item of domesticity off the checklist! Somehow Tony's survived. So I pulled up a couple of recipes online at work, decided to mish-mash a few, as I always do and then suddenly freaked at the cook time! Yikes, the only way the meal would get done in time was if I left work early.

I cleared it with my boss and away I went on the early bus. I chatted easily with a few other passengers who I hadn't seen in awhile and then high tailed it to the grocery store to pick up a few ingredients. The place was packed and I had to stand in line for quite some time, only to think that I forgot my wallet, only to get out of line to call Tony, only to search my purse again and realize that while yes, I forgot my wallet, I did in fact have my check card. Big UGH, as I went back to stand in line!

FINALLY, I get home to assemble the meatloaf. I'm going at a good clip and happily welcomed Tony and Isaac home, when Tony returned from picking up Isaac. Only, Tony didn't great me warmly or with a kiss, rather a double take and inquisitive stare, before starting to laugh.

WHY?

Because on both my upper and lower lip, I had purple ink for WHO KNOWS how long! How embarrassing!

Haha, that is too funny! The other day I was making a chart for work and I got marker all over my cheek. I had no idea.

Bummer man... when did you have a purple pen in your mouth???

It actually doesn't look that bad! I've had horrendous mishaps and I never have any idea how it gets on my face! and there is nothing quite like staining your tooth with red ink from clenching a leaking sharpy in your mouth for a minute....not like I've ever done that.... :)

btw, love your shirt!

Never! I don't put pens in my mouth lol! That's the worst part, I literally have no clue when it occurred!

That's really funny! I understand your embarrassment, though. If it makes you feel any better, I once walked around for quite some time and then went to apply for a job when my friend (who was with my the entire time and all through lunch) finally told me that I had a large square of yellow cheese on my cheek. Now that's really embarrassing!

Funny! I would have been embarrassed and surprised no one said anything. I have never made meatloaf, either :)

I can't believe no one said anything. At least its not too noticeable.

I have two different fantastic meatloaf recipes if you ever try again! I was never a big fan of meatloaf growing up but everynow and then homemade meatloaf and potatoes sure hits home during the crisp cool months...and meatloaf sandwhiches the next day are fabulous!
