Thankfully when we came in there was good hot food cooking! This is a ridiculously easy recipe that my family calls 3-2-1 Beef. All you do is find a cheap 3 lb roast {which was on sale for $1.99/lb}, 2 packets of Good Seasoning Italian dressing mix and 1 can/bottle of beer. Pour the beer into the crockpot, stir in dressing mix and then submerge the roast. Allow to cook on high for 5-6 hours {or as we learned in the oven at 300* for 5-6 hours, as one of my cabin go-ers forgot her 2 crockpots!} Once the time has past, shred the beef. It produces a fabulous shredded beef with a wonderful au jus sauce. At home we serve with toasted ciabatta bread with provolone cheese, at the cabin . . . hamburger buns with cole slaw. :) It definitely hit the spot!

As did the fire:

And wine in coffee mugs:

There was also a decent amount of queso eating straight from the jar:

Gratuitous shot of my son on the well worn couch:

On Sunday the sun was at least present and a respectable 65* or so:

Allie finally got the ball tossed to her:

Since we had success in the pool at 2 months, Tony was adamant that we try the lake at 4 months:

I will vouch that it was the same temp as the pool:

But unfortunately for Tony and Isaac, the little man was due for a nap. There was no consoling him this time and his first experience in the lake was a bust:

Did I mention that the septic system was on the verge of crapping out? There were no showers for anyone {this girl showered Thursday night, so let's just say first course of action was a date with our shower upon returning on Sunday}. So Tony made use of our wet boy and Baby Bee'd him in the lake:

Contrary to popular opinion, he is not getting baptized lol, but rather rinsed off:

He was definitely pouting aftwerwards:

But Daddy has a way of making everything better:

Especially when "Super baby's" are in effect:

And lot's of kisses:

My beef and bars went over well, and by well the bars were gone within an hour of opening them. There were only 9 of us at that point. We played quite a few games, including the Game of Things and Partini. So I guess it wasn't as disappointing as I first stated, but it still would have been better if the weather had cooperated!
As for the 5 hour drive out and back? Isaac slept almost the whole way each time! Additionally he was a dream at the cabin. He's the first baby that's ever made the treck and I think our friends were apprehensive that they would be kept up all hours due to a crying baby, but it just didn't happen. Everyone remarked how good Isaac was and I got to keep saying how blessed I am!

I was JUST looking at these pics on Facebook. How cute! I love the ones of Isaac and Tony. And I cannot believe this cold weather....ugh.
Great pictures! NOthing like a bath in the water!
I love the pictures of Tony and Issac, too cute!
Aww, you are blessed! You have such a sweet family!
Reading this post makes me long for the days when I lived in Michigan. I never thought I'd say that-- I would give ANYTHING for some "fridgid" weather right now. We probably won't see temps like you had this weekend until December or January. Ohhh, for season changes!
Thanks for postng these! I love seeing your pictures. :-)
Ah what a fun weekend! I want to buy my cabin now...
...and I am totally making your roast this week - looks delish!
That beef sounds FANTASTIC. I think it's definitely entering my food planning rotation over the weekend!
LOVE those pictures of Tony and Isaac!
What a fun weekend! And what is up with this fall weather??
yay for you! looks like a good time despite the shotty weather!
Looks like you guys had a great time on your "outdoor" adventure as well! Love those photos of tony & isaac. Precious!
Sorry you had crappy weather, but you sure did get some great pictures! :)
fun times!! too bad it was so cold... (apparently on your last post when i asked if issac swam or if that was too early -- i had missed the 2 month swim session!! he will be grateful later that he got used to the water early - i still didn't know how to swim at 12!)
That recipe sounds delish! The weather was craptastic, but it still sounds like you were able to make a fun weekend out of it. I love seeing pictures of Isaac and Tony together. There is nothing more precious than a daddy and his baby!
Great pictures! We were also enjoying the cold weather near Brainerd this weekend, not cool! I also wanted to tell you, the Oreo Fudge bar recipe that you posted! DANGEROUS. I have found my new pregnant lady craving treat:)
Isaac's pouting face is too cute.
I can't believe it's so chilly up there! I mean, I can, but it's crazy to see people in fleeces and fires in August! My friend just got back from Michigan and I couldn't believe it when she told me she swam in the water and it was only 65 degrees! That's hardcore.
Those pictures of Tony and Isaac are precious!
I'm totally saving that recipe - it sounds amazing.
glad you had a good time despite the cruddy weather!
The pics of Tony and Isaac are so sweet! Glad Allie got to play with the ball some. :-)
How has Allie adjusted to Isaac?
Isaac is such a cute baby. Just perfect. And that crockpot recipe? I'm in love with you. Adding it to the menu - just looking for a coldish day.
I'm glad you guys had such a great weekend! The pictures of Tony & Issac are wonderful. So sorry you had to deal with crappy weather though!
I clicked over to comment on the photos of Tony and Isaac, too. Every time I see pics of them together, it just warms my heart, and I so cannot wait to see my own husband with our little guy. I think my heart might just burst!!!
Yummy recipe! I will have to give it a try some time!
I am so glade that you guys had a great trip! Sounds like a lot of fun despite the less-than-idea weather. Allie is beautiful! And you got a lot of great shots of Tony and Isaac.
Is Tony good about taking pictures of you with your little man?
Oh, even though it was chilly it sounds like tons of fun! I love daddy/baby pics!
Ok, the 321 beef is on my list! It looks so good and easy to make.
Love the baby pics. We do "super baby" too! It definitely works.
I have 321 Beef in the crockpot for supper! Thanks for the recipe!
Love the pouty faces! :)
I love the pictures of Tony and Isaac! They melt my heart.
I'm new to your blog and dying to know how you get your gorgeous pictures so big on Blogspot!?!?!
The two jars of queso, is cracking me up! Can't have too little I suppose and clearly one jar just wasn't going to cut it!
Those pictures of Tony & Issac are just stunning! Great work!
Those pictures are just precious, what a moment you captured!!
