Bachelorette Party Recap

Friday, September 18, 2009

Well, I know this is very anti-climatic, as it was almost a week ago, but I figured it was high time that I recapped Nadia's bachelorette party! :)

First off Gina and Beth came to my rescue in the wardrobe department, clothing and accesorizing me! Soooo needed. Once the outfit was settled on on Friday, I whipped up my two go-to appetizers {cheese herb spread and shrimp dip}, in addition to store bought hummus {the horror!}.

Saturday was a little maddening, as I rose early to the treat of getting my hair done. Unfortunately, it ended up not quite the treat or pick me up I was hoping. :( My hair now has highlights, but it still feels blase.

I don't remember quite all that I did on Saturday now, but if felt like quite the whirlwind and I was crying as I left the house. I didn't want to be giving up my weekend! Tony comforted me a bit and reassured me that Isaac would be fine, of which I had no doubt, I was the one who wasn't going to be fine! Lol. Finally, only 10 minutes later than intended and 1,000 smooches to Isaac I was on my way.

We decided to do appetizers and games, as we waited for a few stragglers to join us for dinner.

Cheese herb spread:

Zesty shrimp dip:

I also bought Archer Farms {Target brand} Black Bean and Jalepeno corn chips to go along with the fabulous AF's Peach Mango salsa that I tried at Abby's {when she was still pregnant, on second thought I think I was too!}. It was fabulous!

We played a questionnaire game that Nadia's fiance was gracious enough to supply the answers to {Nadia did amazingly well for how generally funny Aaron's answers were} and the Play-doh game. I don't think I need to explain the Play-doh game {get creative}.

The woman of the hour {her crown was a Disney princess Belle crown! I removed the Belle appliqué and thought it would look perfect given Nadia's pink dress}

Group {minus 1} Shot before leaving for dinner:

Cassie and I both pumped before dinner and we headed out around 7:30-8:00ish to Harry's on Washington. None of us had been before, but it was very nice! They had a pretty nice selection of menu items and I think every liked their selections.

Nad's went for a Martini!

Before leaving Harry's the group had a shot, I think 7-8 shots for less than $30, so not bad.

After we left Harry's Cassie and I again needed to pump, so we went back to Nadia's place quickly before jumping on the Lightrail. Being that we left Harry's at 10:00, the Lightrail Pub Crawl was a bit of a bust and ended up being Lightrail-Pub-Stop-Before-Heading-Back-DT-to-GO-DANCING.

On the Lightrail:

DeAnne was miming for us through the glass!

Random lady snoring LOUDLY:

Nadia excited to go dancing!

Finally at the Drink:

Having a good time:

Nad's song of the night was Single Ladies and she looooved dancing to it when it was finally played, instead of her just singing it. :)

I had two glasses of wine before dinner, a beer with dinner and half of the group shot, but was done drinking at 10:00. We made it to the Drink at about 12:00 and I text messaged my Mom almost immediately to confirm that she would be picking me up at 1:00. I danced with Nads and the girl's for the full hour and made my way out when my Mom called me. Nadia didn't seem upset at all and in all honesty, I'm proud that I stayed out so late!

I will never forget the image of my Mom and Stepdad in bedtime apparel {not quite pajamas, but definitely comfy clothing} being downtown Minneapolis on First Avenue at 1:00 am. My Stepdad was so peeved from all of the traffic and drunks walking about! I tried to warn them and have them park on a side street so I could walk to them, but they picked me up right outside.

I'm so thankful they came to pick me up and I gave them the lowdown of the evening as they drove me home.

I don't think anyone will be surprised by this, I literally ran to my door. :)

It was a good, fun evening spent with amazing girls, but all I wanted was my two boys at home!

I'm so glad the party turned out be a success! It looks like you had a great time! I totally feel you on not wanting to leave Isaac...I'm missing girls weekend next weekend to be with Henry! Maybe someday the seperation anxiety will subside!

Hmmmmmmm. One of my readers emailed me saying that a blog on my side bar had an inappropriate pic on her blog (the penis). Sounds/looks like you had a wild night.

I'm glad you got to go out and have some fun. I think the Play-doh game is hilarious! Somehow I've never seen that before. Might have to do that for one I'm helping throw next month!

looks like you had a good time! :) I'm so glad, bet it's nice to have it be over and done with now. Also super nice of your parents to pick you up! I admit I giggled a little bit reading your description of having them pick you up!

The dips look great! I'm glade you were able to go out, and have fun. Even mom's need to do that every once in awhile ;) But if I were you, I probably would have been running into the house when I got home too!!!

We survived the BP crazyness!! Or I guess I almost survived, but will not be doing that for a long time! And thanks for the reference in the other post.

Sounds like a great night! I'm impressed you made it to 1 AM. I'm not a mama and I can rarely stay out that late, I'm just an old lady ;).

Funny how our priorities change once we have our babies... no longer about being out and having a great time, and more about just being with our baby boys! I totally hear ya and can completely understand. :)

Now THAT's a fun night! I hope you enjoyed your night out though I totally understand about going home to "my two boys" (in my case, it's Mr. FC & the dog).

You look beautiful! Just glowing!

Happy to know about this bachelorette party. Had been to my cousin’s bachelorette party at event space. Wonderful arrangements were done there that made my day really enjoyable. Everything was done amazingly.
