Punched in the gut.

Tony's sold a job with a payout to us of $100 so far. Our mortgage isn't looking good.

He also just called to cancel our hotel reservations in Colorado and has been denied. They are non-refundable because the travel agent booked through Expedia or the like.

I don't know know what to do or what my options are.

We don't have $700 dollars to pay for a hotel in Colorado when I'm worried about paying my mortgage next month!

Oh ladies . . .

*There's already a pending update. Please Lord, let this work!

I'm praying for you right now. I also have faith that this will all be worked out! So sorry you're having to deal with all of this.

Oh, honey!

The Lord will always be there for you. Has Tony thought about filing unemployment? In GA you qualify if your job takes you to commission only [at least I believe that is true].

Prayers and hugs, of course.

You could try putting the hotel rooms on Craigslist! Good luck!

Oh dear, I am praying for you! You should not have to pay for that room, your travel agent should be able to cancel for you or at least negotiate with them!

I agree with a previous poster about trying to put up the room on Craigslist. You never know - if you can't get all your money back at least you could try to sell it to someone who might want a vacation!
Very sorry you are going through this :(

Keeping my fingers crossed and saying a prayer for you guys!

What about calling the travel agent/company directly and pleading with them. I would think that there has to be some way out and that this isn't the first time they have had a request lately due to job issues. Good Luck!!!

Try putting up the dates and stuff on your blog, then sending out a massive email to everyone in your address book. Get the word out. I'm sure there's someone out there who would buy that off you, maybe not for $700 but it would help. I'm praying for you!

I say offer this on craigs list even if you have to eat some of the cost. Maybe a discounted rate will lift this off of your hands.

Leah, I don't know if you know this but Bill and I have had some REALLY REALLY rough financial stints in the past several years of our marriage (to the tune of being almost 3 months behind on things...even our mortgage)
This came about due to unforseen job issues and it has been exhausting and overwhemling
We are FINALLY on the flip side of things for the first time in years

i know EXACTLY how you are feeling
I know EXACTLY the battle that you are fighting
and I am praying for you

if you need to talk, email
otherwise, you MUST MUST remember that the STORM is not what is to be looked at right now, but that gorgeous creator standing right in the midst of it reaching out his hands just waiting for you to hold on

He DOES offer peace in the midst of storms...no matter how raging

(ok, now I am crying...bye!)

Like the last comment, we've been in the same situation, so believe me when I say I know how it feels. It's amazing how things always seem to work out. Keep your faith! Praying for y'all!
