Question: Do you know the difference between a 5K and a soccer game?
The 5K went pretty well Wednesday night. Tony and I got quite the kick out of the name, as the Moonlight 5K commenced at 7:00 and there was no sight of the moon to be seen. We basically ran around 3M's parking lot which left a lot to be desired by way of course, especially since it was a loop. I think it should be obvious that we will not be doing the run again in the future . . . but it's official! I'm a runner again! :)
We finished in 28:40. Not a time to be especially proud of, but as the mother of an almost 11 week old, I'll take it.
My soccer league started up last night! We were off to a pretty rough start when the game started, since we were still going through introductions and didn't even have enough players on the field, let alone a goalie identified! Yikes! We ended the half down 3-1 and were lucky the damage wasn't worse! The 2nd half we really buckled down, you know, once we knew everyone's names lol. Ended up being a 3-2 loss and we're excited for what next week will bring!
Answer: Bladder control.
Um, back to those kegels. Sprints, hard stops and my body hitting the ground apparently inhibits my ability.

ohhhh yeah, I could see that being a bit of a problem... :) Congrats to getting back on the athletics wagon, I bet it feels great! Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog, I sent you a little email!
Too funny! This is a problem for me already...
Yay you for getting back out there. That is a respectable time even if you hadn't given birth!
and too funny about the bladder control...well not really funny but you know what I mean.
I kind of sort of miss running just a little bit, even though I didn't do it for nearly as long.
I need to get back on the exercise train in general now that quick movements don't make me vomit, lol!
ha! i would enjoy having a time like that- proud even! i am soo slow. :) your little guy has the cutest little smile!! i love seeing it.
I ran two miles on Monday for the first time is what, a year? What do you wear on top to keep the ladies in line?
I am very impressed by how in-the-game you are for 11 weeks pp!
Awesome job for doing the 5K!!! Hehe, it's amazing what giving birth does to ones body. ; )
Way to go with both the 5k & the soccer game! I'm sure you're well on your way, if not already there, to being in fantastic shape again!! You're such a great encouragement to me & after this past vacation, I definitely need some motivation!! :)
Since you labeled this post as " recovery" I am going to ask... has soccer and running helped much with your pp progress ? I am looking for some hope !
I just love reading your blog Leah! You and your posts are just so uplifting and encouraging. God has truly blessed you with a beautiful family and wonderful life and reading about it brings me so much joy!
You are my hero! That's a great accomplishment for having a newborn baby. The pics of Issac below are really cute!
You really inspire me to get out there and run more often! A mother of an almost 11 week old and you're signed up to do 5k's and play soccer!!! Way to go! I need to get my butt into gear! :-)
