Last year it took me 4 months to train for my first half marathon. We didn't really push ourselves, as our goal was to finish, but I'm not sure how much I could have pushed myself past our results. Hand in hand, we finished at 2:00:42, a 9:18 minute mile. I was thrilled.
Until my dear sweet hubby and my competitive bro, with all of their lack of training, ran the half marathon faster than I did with FOUR months of training.
Guys suck sometimes.
I bring this up, because this weekend we're headed up to Duluth for Grandma's festivities again. This time Tony will be running without me. :(
This will be our first trip with Isaac and there's a lot of planning involved. I started talking to Tony about the pack n play and I thought his head was going to snap he was so confused. You just kind of take things for granted . . . like where your child is going to sleep! :)
I will update with Tony's results when we get back. If you will, pray for safety for the runners.
On Sunday we have my Grandma's birthday party, Tony's first Father's Day {totally unprepared} and Father's Day with my Dad . . . who won't return my phone calls.

my friend's husband decided to run the marathon with friends weeks before, and somehow finished it...crazy. I am still amazed at you runners. you say your goal is to "finish" yet, you ran your 13.1 miles faster than i run my daily four! impressive. have fun on your mini trip!
Seems we always have to train more! grrrrrrrr. We are spending one night away from the house and yowza, babies DO take so much planning!
Blah.. why can guys always pull stuff like this off???? gosh.
While it's totally awesome that the rocked the half marathon...how annoying!! LOL.
Have a great weekend. :)
Definitely awesome, but I would be slightly annoyed too. Makes me sing "Anything you can do I can do better" in the back of my mind. Have a wonderful weekend!
Have a great time up in Duluth! Happy Father's day to Tony. :)
I "hate" how some guys can just pull things out like that. Seriously, that ticks me off like no other. Grrrr!!!
Good for them, but they still suck! Seriously, no training and they were off! Jerks.
They are rarities, you know. Your training was worth it and I'm glad they didn't get injured with their superman attempts! Have fun at Grandmas...that is one I've always wanted to do, it has such a great reputation.
