It all started innocently enough when Tony asked our friend to invite him the next time he went frisbee golfing and before I could stop myself, I was planning a surprise birthday party for Tony! With the help of friends and family, and Tony's own planning to get himself out of the house, it went off without a hitch.
I debated on whether or not I should really plan it for my last week of leave or if I should do it sometime this week . . . my Mom and I really went back and forth, but finally I settled on Friday, the 12th. Honestly, it was the best decision ever. I enjoyed ever single minute with Isaac last week and was able to distract myself up until the last day. I saved myself a whole week of breakdowns, for only one day's worth.
I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off and was thoroughly shocked when people started showing up at our house at 7:00. Since I hadn't actually spoken with anyone about the party, other than clandestine {Aaron, I love that word} communications, it was seemed so odd that people were actually showing up!
To say that I successfully surprised Tony was an understatement! I really hope that some pictures filter in, as I was holding Isaac at the time, instead of my camera {I know, what were my priorities lol?}.
All night long Tony would run up to me give me a kiss and tell me how wonderful I was. I would do anything again to make him that happy, especially after such a rough work week! I was so happy to have pulled it off, taking into consideration the fact that I banked on his neglect of our online bank account lol. All he would have had to do was log in and the surprise would have been spoiled for sure! I love my dependable man, even if his faults are also dependable! :)

Happy early birthday Tony!! Looks like a fun night. :)
What a great party! Kudos to you for pulling it off!
I have been reading for a while now and I don't even remember how and when I found you. I find you rather interesting and an honest blogger and love looking into your life. Somewhere along the lines I missed when you and your husband quit working together. I am sorry that you don't like your job, unfortunately I can relate all to well. Best of luck to you and you and your family will be in my prayers. I know it is hard, but just remember that everything happens for a reason.
So fun! Love that hockey cake.
What a great surprise!
I've been thinking about you today!
I'm so sad we missed it - looks like it was a good time and you pulled off a great party! That cake looks awesome, but I LOVE bars so I'm curious to know what ones you had. Hope your day is passing quickly!
Talk about a lot on your plate! You rock though!! And Baby Isaac's stink-eye photo is priceless!
