Up to speed.

I failed to mention the reason I withheld the surprise . . . I was pretty bummed out following my phone interview. I felt as though I answered reasonably well, but my attempts at humor {what can I say, it's who I am} seemed to fall on deaf ears and I did not feel as though I ever connected with my interviewer. That may seem to be a high aspiration, seeing as how it's her job to weed out candidates and remain stoic, yet cheerful, but for some reason that was how I guaged the success of the interview. And then to hear from Erin that the in-person interview should have been scheduled while still on the phone if I were to be granted one per corporate "standards," well, I just wasn't in the celebrating mood, you know?

On Friday though, I received just about the only news that would enable me to head into a weekend of serving without feeling despondent. My interviewer called back to schedule my in person interview!!! Due to the holidays, it's further out than I would have hoped, but I'm scheduled for 9:30, Wednesday January 7th. I'm hoping the new year brings a new job!

As for the weekend of serving? Friday and Saturday went just about as well as I could hope. We had a bit of blizzardish conditions on Saturday, our first day of full operations, so I didn't expect much . . . but at dinner hour every seat was filled! I was quite worried about our business, seeing as how the powers that be decided to do a quiet opening. We'll be doing a Grand Opening when management decides that the staff is ready, which I don't blame them! In all honesty, I felt like more of a bar back than a server Saturday as I was preparing and running drinks for 4 of the new girls. Yikes.

So, anywho, back to the interview. I'm worried about my bump at that point. That's putting me at 23 1/2 weeks ladies. That's nothing to sneeze at, trust me I do a lot of bump analyzing and I know what I should look like at that point. These girls are not the greatest sampling, but they fairly well depict why I'm worried.

Congrats on your in person interview!

I have absolutely no bump-hiding suggestions. Maybe I'm crazy, but what if you didn't try to hide it?

Congrats on the interview, my advice is don't try to hide the bump just go in and be the amazing person that you are. If this is the position God wants you to have everything will work out. I'll be praying for you sweetie!!

Good luck on the upcoming job interview, that is wonderful news!! Your bump is just wonderful. My sister is 22 weeks and she is a skinny mini just like you. She is also very athletic with an amazing set of abs like you. Her bump looks just like yours, it's because both of your abs were in such great shape pre baby that it's holding your little one in. Hang in there, everything will be fine!!!

Congrats on your interview! I'm sure you'll do great. As for hiding the bump, you could wear layers (sweater or vest over a dress shirt, or jacket over a dress shirt or blouse). Blouses with empire waists are good too.

Congrats on the next interview! Remember if this job is meant to be, it will work out bump or not so try not to stress too much about what you can't control.

I'll be praying for you!

and if I don't make it online before Christmas again, I hope you, Tony, and baby have a very blessed Christmas!

I'll be praying for you and your interview. Don't worry about the bump. You're so tiny! With your interview suit on, it may not even show that much. And even if it does, your personality and skill will shine through more than your bump!

I was able to hide my bump at around 23wks with a really traditonal suit jacket buttoned up. It covered up the maternity pants I was wearing. I would say wear whatever makes you feel good about yourself.

Yay! So excited to hear about the upcoming interview! And I wouldn't hide the bump... honestly they are going to find out eventually and I would be afraid of them feeling "deceived", you know? I wouldn't try to hide it, but I wouldn't flaunt it either. ;) You'll be great no matter what!!!

That's wonderful news about the interview. If it's right, they won't care about the bump and will only be happy to get such a great employee!! =)

My advice on the bump? Don't hide it. They're going to find out sooner or later so might as well get it out of the way. If they don't notice...oh well. I have a feeling they won't though!

And this is totally off the subject...but, oh my, some of those prego girls are just..just....slutty looking! Who takes pictures like that?!?!? Ah well. It provided some good laughs for me :)

I'm concerned about their reaction to interviewing a pregnant woman. I know that their hands are tied legally and that will not be able to ask questions regarding it or even if a family is in my future, but I think that it would definitely cast an uncertain shadow onto hiring me that I do not want to face them with. I think that there would be some level of discrimination regardless of how professional the interviewers.

You know what? I wouldn't worry about it. I have 22 and 24 week pics posted on my blog and I think you can hide that pretty well. You are small, so you might not have a problem at all.

Best of luck to you.

I have no advice regarding whether or not you should hide the bump, but if you want to, you can easily pull it off. You're tiny, so you could probably find something to wear that covers it up. But more importantly, good luck on your interview!!!
