It's a long list folks.

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

I can't ensure that this will be entertaining, but I haven't been doing much of that lately anyways.

My long list details what we are out of:

Peanut butter
Vegetables (frozen or fresh)
Fruit (of any kind)
Meat, besides frozen chicken
Rice (of any kind)
Coffee sweetner
Raspberry lemonade powder juice mix

Body wash (using Tony's soap)
Deoderant (using Tony's deoderant)
Face wash (see above)
Face cream (break out city!)
Laundry detergent

Cat food

Dog shampoo

A 2nd vehicle, so even if we had the money to purchase all of the above, I couldn't go to the store to get it.

Granted, this hysteria is self-imposed, we won't feel the pay cut for another two weeks, but as we are adjusting to the new budget now I'm getting used to the feeling of going without.

If I am going to experience cravings, I think that my completely rational and budget centered self will squelch them.

Blech, I hate that freakout. I usually do it around the 20th of every month, when most of our bills are due. Ick.

Hope yall get used to everything!

Ew, boys deodorant? That is where I'd have to draw the line. You don't want to smell like man all day, do you? :)

In all seriousness, hang in there. You'll get through this!

I freak out like this almost every month too. I have so BEEN there with being out of everything--but it's amazing how many meals you can make even when you think you have no food, isn't it?

The only thing that really kills me is not having fruit and veggies.

I know that you guys are feeling the crunch right now (or you will in the next two weeks), but I know you'll settle into a new budget over the next couple months!

That sounds like the constant state at my house, just add toilet paper. Always running out of that!

You can ignore the cravings for awhile- until you have an irrational breakdown and determine you cannot put anything in your mouth unless it is what you have been trying to ignore. This usually happens the moment dinner is on the table...and it is usually not what you crave! After packing up Sunday dinner to get a cheese covered omelet at Keys Cafe (sporting a tear stained face) I learned to listen to the crave EARLY! Also, I seriously didn't grocery shop for the last 4 months I was pregnant and we managed to survive on my husbands version of what we needed which was usually a far cry from what I would have filled the pantry with. I still haven't shopped since the boys have been home...maybe I should look into that.

Well I personally like the smell of "man" so I bet you smell pretty good :)

I am a chronic worrier so I would probably be doing the same thing. It's amazing though what we're able to endure and how we can adapt when needed. The Lord is great at giving us strength!

you are so funny - I love this post...especially the "rice-of any kind".

I know feeling the crunch is not fun...but I know that one day you will look back at this experience with tony and think with pride how you did it, you got through it, and you thrived! It will be a story for the grandkids :)
