Tony and I stumbled upon a deal breaker. They only offer six weeks unpaid maternity leave.
Of course there are only 5 women in the office . . . so I'm sure it hasn't been a huge issue before.
The state of MN requires companies of 50 employees or more to offer 12 weeks, at least 75% paid, and that is what I would be leaving at Target.
So, I get to negotiate, because the other thing is that after my last two raises, the amount that they are offering over that would actually equal out to the amount that I would lose if I had to take 6 weeks unpaid.
YIKES.
